Dr. Al Mahmud Lemon graduated from Rajshahi Medical College in 2006. He passed FCPS (Eye) from Bangladesh College of Physician and Surgeons in 2018 and International Council of Ophthalmology in 2019. And aslo MRCS from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, England. He is an experienced eye specialist and surgeon giving this service in Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Green Eye Hospital for 12 years.

ফ্যাকো সার্জারির মতোই অপারেশনের মাধ্যমে চোখের প্রাকৃতিক লেন্স পরিবর্তন করে অস্বাভাবিক পাওয়ার ঠিক করা।
চোখের ছানি (Cataract) অপারেশনে কোন ধরনের লেন্স সংযোজন করা উচিত?
অনেক রোগী ছানি অপারেশনের আগে জিজ্ঞেস করে থাকেন তার জন্য কোন লেন্সটি ভালো হবে আমেরিকান নাকি ইন্ডিয়ান? কিংবা বেশি দামের লেন্স লাগালে তিনি কি বেশি ভালো দেখতে পাবেন কিনা? মূলত লেন্সের ব্যাপারটি কোন ধরনের অপারেশন হবে অর্থাৎ ফ্যাকো নাকি এসআইসিএস তার উপর নির্ভর করবে। ফ্যাকো সার্জারি করলে সফট বা ফোল্ডেবল লেন্স, আর এসআইসিএস করলে হার্ড বা পিএমএম লেন্স দেয়া হয়। কাজেই পুরো বিষয়টি ছানির রকম বা ম্যাচুরিটি এবং অপারেশনের ধরণের উপর নির্ভর করে। এক্ষেত্রে রোগী শুধু তার বাজেট বা কোন দেশীয় লেন্স নিতে চান সেটি জানাতে পারেন। ক্ষেত্রবিশেষে সার্জন অপারেশন চলাকালীন সময়ে জরুরী প্রয়োজনে সফট লেন্সের পরিবর্তে হার্ড লেন্স বা পিএমএম লেন্স ব্যবহার করতে পারেন।

দৃষ্টিহীন ত্রুটিযুক্ত চোখ, যে চোখে ওষুধ, অপারেশন বা অন্য যেকোন চিকিৎসার মাধ্যমে দৃষ্টি ফেরানো সম্ভব নয় সেটি অপারেশনের মাধ্যমে বদলে অবিকল সেরকমই একটি চোখ সংযোজন করাকে Eveseration with base ball implant বলে। এই রোগিনীর আঘাতজনিত কারনে ডান চোখ নষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছিল। অপারেশনের মাধ্যমে চোখ বদলে কৃত্রিম চোখ সংযোজনের পর অবিকল আগের মতই দেখা যাচ্ছে।
